Welcome to The Diary of Higgins & Haiti!

Hello everyone,

You will be glad to know that I have compiled the diary of my volunteer period in Haiti. It can be found if you click on the link below:
http://alligatorsontheroof.blogspot.com/

I hope you get a chance to flick through it or even have a read at the 1-28 posts (under September archive). I have ordered the posts in the reverse order (a blog usually starts with the most recent first) to allow you to read my account in the order that it happened - kind of like a novel. The only post which is out of sync is no.7. I have struggled with this for days and there appears to be some error which will not enable me to slot this piece of info where I wish it to be.

I am aware that you are all incredibly busy, so I will add a video clip which I have compiled all my fave images from my trip along with tunes that remind me of the special country and its people. This will basically tell you the story, without having to read it, if you so desire. I will also be adding a page for this blog on FB. Before you all groan, this is to allow me to keep my Haiti life and my personal life separate. If you do visit Facebook, please join this page to keep up-to-date with my news and future projects – the more hits I get the better. Or click on the 'like' button on the right hand-side of the page!

Check back once a week for news!

Once again, thank you to all you lovely, kind, generous people who made this adventure possible with your kind words of encouragement and support.

Frontline Fashion

Style Conscious with a Social Conscience

We are extremely proud to announce the launch of Frontline Fashion, a progressive fashion, beauty and culture on-line magazine with a difference, as well as Frontline Fashion’s first range of stylish clothes, known as ‘Zanmi’.

Frontline Fashion is the brain-child of an experienced fashion and beauty PR turned entrepreneur who, after spending time volunteering in a disaster zone, realised that people don’t need to shun the glamour and highlife of the style industry in order to make a difference to others, and that everybody can be style conscious with a social conscience!

Frontline Fashion sets out not only to provide the latest news from the ‘frontline’ on the hottest lifestyle trends, jet-set destinations and catwalk creations, but also, through the Zanmi range, to raise awareness about humanitarian issues and funds to support dedicated projects.

Determined to make a difference within the style sector, Frontline Fashion stands to change existing culture and mind-sets towards philanthropy and style. Frontline Fashion will deliver chic, stylish and educated commentary and reviews on matters of style that will appeal to all discerning stylistas. And through the ‘Sky-High Stilettos’ section, Frontline Fashion also offers a ‘one world’ voice, showcasing what’s happening in cities across the globe.

Sitting alongside the on-line magazine, the Zanmi range (‘Zanmi’ is the Haitian Creole word for ‘friends’) is the perfect platform to show how style can contribute to society in a positive way. To begin with, simple tees and totes will be available for purchase through the website, with the first full clothing range set to be released in March 2011.

Frontline Fashion sees this venture as a long-term partnership. Since our core value is to help individuals be socially responsible whilst remaining stylish, this project is made truly unique by the fact that we are committed to donating 50% of all of Frontline Fashion’s profits towards our foundation projects, which, to begin with, will be the construction of a dormitory and an orphanage in the earthquake-destroyed country of Haiti.

Frontline Fashion is partnering with A.C.T.S and Grass Roots United in the delivery of those projects and will provide an opportunity for all supporters of Frontline Fashion to see how their purchases and support are being utilised. We hope that will provide supporters with the ability to connect with our foundation projects and to develop similar levels of commitment and passion that spurs our team on.

Frontline Fashion has more heart than you’ll ever find on the catwalk and intends to be a cultural catalyst that not only fits into your lifestyle, but also satisfies the desire for style in life. Looking the part is only the beginning, so please visit us at www.frontlinef.com and sign up today for all the latest news delivered directly to your inbox.
